Our unique travel philosophy
Our concept and way of trekking/traveling is different from other tour operators. On our trips, sights and local culture are our main goal of the trip. Of course, we do not miss the most important sights, but with us the meeting with people, their everyday life and the local culture is the central theme of the trip. Our committed local tour guides make these a natural part of the trip. Through small groups and slightly longer trips, our trekkers/travellers get the right conditions to get a little closer to nature.

Our local tour guides are one of the most important reasons for choosing The Cloudline. They have strong roots in the area you are visiting. They speak Local dialect, Hindi & English and most have worked for us for many years. They have good contacts along the route and naturally give you the local perspective
Our guides are very popular with our trekkers/ travellers and are, together with our travel philosophy, the most important reason why our travellers choose to travel with us. The average rating for our trek/tour leaders is between 4.5 and 5.0 in the evaluation of the trips.
We have satisfied Trekkers/travellers
Our trips receive very high ratings from our trekkers/travellers. The average is 4.7 out of 5 possible. The best rating, however, is our high percentage of returning trekkers/travellers. Trekkers/Travelers who return again and again are the best rating you can get as a tour operator, and over the years we have gained many loyal regular customers who continue to travel with us. Many trekkers/travellers also trek/travel many times with us, the record is a whopping 23 trips!
We also have many new trekkers/travellers who come to us via recommendations from previous trekkers/travellers, which is also a good rating.
We have been around for over 36 years
The Cloudline was founded in 1988 and in 2023 we celebrated 35 years as a tour operator. Through our long experience, we have learned what our trekkers/travellers demand. We have a strong concept that we ourselves believe in and that we know our trekkers/travellers appreciate. We have chosen to stick to our profile and our way of traveling without succumbing to the temptation to produce trips that do not fit our concept just to increase profitability. By maintaining our pure concept, we have been able to maintain the feeling of being a personal tour operator and we are still today, over 36 years since our founding, a small, privately owned, and independent company with no external ownership interests.
We ourselves love to travel and we know our destinations
We who work at The Cloudline love to travel and we have a solid knowledge of the regions we arrange trips to. Our tour leaders always have a background with solid experience from the region or regions for which he or she is responsible. Together with our long experience in producing trips, our trekkers/travellers can therefore feel secure in the fact that we have planned and produced our trips in a well-thought-out and quality-assured way.
We are pioneers in new destinations
Ever since our inception in 1988, we have produced trips to places where few, if any, other tour operators have trips. This is partly due to our own desire to discover new places, but partly the answer can also be found in our travel philosophy, that is to produce and carry out trips beyond the tourist attractions.
Over the years, the destinations we have been “first to” have become many. For that reason, many of our competitors are looking at us and the trips we produce. That is a good rating for us.
Our trips are unique and elaborate
Our trips are different from the trips of other tour operators. We put a lot of effort into producing trips that are unique in their layout. Traveling with us means experiencing everyday life in another culture, contacting people, and coming home with strong experiences and new thoughts. Knowledgeable local tour guides, local transport, genuine hotels and emphasis on the small places, villages and nature are our recipe.
Our local tour guides, together with our tour leaders, have a proven ability to find places that few other tour operators have discovered. All our trips therefore include experiences and activities that are difficult to arrange on your own.
Because we believe that time is needed to discover new treks, cultures, our trips are also a little longer than those of other tour operators. You get to experience more and you simply do it at a slightly slower pace.
Our trips only have a limited number of departures per year. Several trips only go 6 time a year and it is rare for a trip to have more than twenty departures in a year. You can therefore feel safe that your trip is not mass-produced.
With us you travel more consciously and sustainably
Since 1988, The Cloudline has created trips where increased knowledge of the world has been an important driving force. Through educational, conscious, and sustainable trips as well as a great interest in the world around us, we want to show our trekkers/travellers the world in a slightly different way, where we get a little closer.
We would like to claim that we have thought about sustainability long before the word ecotourism existed, it has simply always existed naturally in our way of traveling: small scale, smaller groups, locally owned facilities and transport, local tour guides etc.
With us you will come more prepared for your trip
The contact with our travellers is important to us and we keep you informed about important events before your trip right up to the start of the trip.
When you have registered for the trip, together with your confirmation you will receive a literature list with tips on literature for your trip.
About 15 days before the trip, you will receive a solid information package with practical information before the trip. About one weeks before the start of the trip, you will receive additional final information before the trip.
Our trips are affordable
We like to stick our chin out and dare to say that our trips are very affordable. When comparing trips between different tour operators, it is important to look carefully at what is included. For example, you should compare the length of the trips in number of days. Our trips are often longer than those of other organizers.
With us, you simply get more experience for the money.
We have generous rebooking and cancellation conditions
We probably have the market’s most generous rebooking and cancellation terms. It is, for example, completely free of charge to rebook to a later departure or another trip close to the start of the trip.
We also have very generous cancellation policies compared to other tour operators. For example, the cancellation fee is only 5% up to 45 days before the start of the trip.
Our travel guarantee
The fact that we have arranged a travel guarantee means that you as a trekker/traveller have financial protection if your trip is cancelled or interrupted due to the tour operator becoming insolvent.
